akihabara, arrested, asian, attacks, force, japan, japanese, kato, killer, knife, news, police, stabbingA man went on a stabbing spree on Sunday in central Tokyo, injuring at least 14 people with about five of them left unconscious, a fire department official said.
The man was subdued after stabbing bystanders near the bustling train station of Akihabara, an area known for electronics stores and is a haven for fans of video-games and comic-book culture.
At least 14 people including a police officer were injured, the fire department official said.
“About five of them are unconscious,” he said.
The man was driving a truck that swerved into pedestrians before he got out and began stabbing people at random, according to media reports.

The suspect, Tomohiro Kato was finally captured by the police but even while in pursuit he still managed to attack other innocent pedestrians with his knife.

It wasn’t until the police officer drew his firearm that caused him to surrender.

The killer was struck several times with a police baton but was undeterred and it wasn’t until a gun came into play that the massacre was ended.
Should Japanese police forget the baton and go straight for the gun when dealing with someone like Kato?

asian, broke in, closet, funny, funny pictures, guest, homeless, humor, japanese, police, security, uninvited, video cameraWhat would you do if you lived alone and suddenly realized that the food in your fridge started to end up missing?
You could install home security cameras and have them transmit the images straight to your cellphone. That’s what one man did in Japan.
The owner of the home became suspicious when for months, food started disappearing and decided to monitor the home while he was away. His suspicions were verified when his phone displayed images of someone moving around inside his house. The resident called authorities who searched the location and finally found a homeless woman who had been living in one of his closets for nearly a year.

Police are still investigating how she managed to come and go without ever being discovered. A detective on the case said she moved a mattress into the small closet space and apparently even took showers, calling the woman “neat and clean”.

asian, assault, bicycle, funny, funny pictures, girls, high school, humor, junior, police, toughYou think American police have too much power when dealing with suspects?
Then you should really feel bad for this Japanese police officer who was just assaulted by junior high school girls.
KASUKABE, Saitama Prefecture–Three 14-year-old girls were arrested here after they allegedly assaulted a pair of police officers who had admonished them for riding double on their bicycles.
The melee erupted when a police sergeant, 44, stopped two junior high school girls on a bike around 5:10 p.m. Saturday. One of the girls shoved the officer and said, “The cops can’t do anything.” Her friend then kicked him in the leg, police said.
A second officer was preparing to take the juveniles to a police station when another pair of girls, also riding double, rode up. One of the new arrivals cursed the policeman and spit in his face. The alleged assailant was also arrested.
Really though, what are you gonna do, taser them?
